Applause…For Kids is currently interviewing high caliber students with talent and interest in the performing arts for summer camp counselor positions with our Broadway Summer Camp. Applause…For Kids Broadway Summer Camp is the premiere performing arts summer program for children in Atlanta. No experience required…. only an interest in children and the performing arts. Applause…For Kids Broadway Summer Camps are Monday-Friday, beginning June 2 and continuing through August 8 Click here for weekly schedule. Each camp session is one week long and features songs, dances, and scenes from hit Broadway musicals. The week culminates with a performance during the last hour of camp on Fridays. Intern sessions are from 9:00 a.m-2:30 p.m (which includes 1 hour preparation time, 4 hours of camp, 30 minutes for check-out and cleanup). We are looking for High School students to intern for any or all of the scheduled camp sessions. Interns should provide their own transportation and lunch (snacks are supplied). As this is an intern position, no monetary compensation is offered. However, we are happy to offer letters of recommendation for college, work study, and future endeavors. In addition, each intern is invited to participate in our Advanced Performer Camp during their week of work for only $150. In the Advanced Performers Camp, they will receive semi-private coaching with the Applause…For Kids staff of professional performers. Monday-Thursday from 2:30-5:30pm, interns will be coached on a song or dance from the best musicals in the Broadway canon and then eprform on Friday. All interested applicants should email or mail a letter of interest, along with a resume or summary of work and artistic experience to: b.a.star@applauseforkids.com OR
Applause…For Kids started with the simple notion that theatre has the ability to transform a child’s view of the world from black and white to color, from ordinary to extraordinary, and with the right hands guiding them, to instill the confidence they need to conquer the world. Every child will have an opportunity to feel like a star and enhance their unique gifts and talents by instilling in them self-confidence, self-assuredness, and self-awareness. We teach each child to feel they are special, not because they are the best performer, but because they are being the best that they can be.
